The Future of Wastewater Treatment Series: Philadelphia, PA

Coming in at number 79 on the growth list, Philadelphia County may not need a new wastewater treatment plant, but here at Transcend, we never let a good opportunity go to waste. We’ve got our eye on Lincoln Financial Field, home of the Philadelphia Eagles. Now, we won’t be trading touchdowns for treatment tanks, but we do see an opportunity for a more sustainable play.

Just imagine – a 5 MGD wastewater treatment plant with state-of-the-art MBBR-IFAS technology. We can tackle the city’s wastewater needs right in the heart of the action. We’re swapping out touchdowns for biofilm processes and adding in a little activated sludge to keep things interesting. We’ll stick to the offensive line, creating a treatment system that stands up to the needs of the city while maintaining a minimal footprint.

But we won’t stop there. We’ll keep the solar panels above the parking lot and convert this space into a biology treatment zone. Solar energy powers the treatment, and the roar of the crowd powers us. It’s sustainability at its finest – powered by TDG and cheered on by the Eagles’ faithful. And let’s face it – it’s a win-win situation. We score a prime location, Philadelphia gets an efficient wastewater solution, and the Eagles fans get a ‘field’ day knowing they’re contributing to a more sustainable city. Now that’s what we call playing for the home team!

Remember, it’s not about the size of the plant in the game; it’s about the size of the game in the plant! So let’s play ball with TDG and change the game of wastewater management in Philadelphia.
