What is the Utility Interconnection Hub?
The Utility Interconnection Hub is an advanced software service designed to streamline the substation design and approval process for utilities and energy developers. It automates compliance checks, ensures design consistency, and accelerates the interconnection approval process, helping us manage the growing backlog and developers connect to the grid faster.
The Utility Interconnection Hub uses a series of screens in an intuitive user interface to collect relevant project data before automatically generating design solutions using generative design algorithms.
The platform is configured to reflect each Transcend Standard Electric Utilities specific substation design standards. As developers design and submit their substation designs via the platform, the system automatically checks them for compliance, reducing the need for multiple revisions. This ensures that all submitted designs align with the technical and regulatory requirements of your utility, significantly speeding up the approval process.
Simply click the “Register” button on the homepage to create an account. Once registered, you will be guided through a simple process to input your design parameters, project specifics, and submit your substation design. The system will automatically generate documentation, including Single Line Diagrams and 3D models, for utility review.
The Utility Interconnection Hub allows developers to generate and submit compliant designs in as little as 10-15 minutes. The system automates many of the complex design tasks, including generating detailed technical documents, ensuring that the process is significantly faster than traditional manual methods.
The platform automatically generates many essential design documents required for design submissions, including a Design Inputs Document, Single Line Diagram, Technical Description, Bill of Materials, General Arrangement Drawing, and a 3D model. These documents can be submitted to the utility as part of the interconnection application package.
