This article is part of our feature on the future of wastewater in the U.S.’s fastest growing metro areas. We’re using the Transcend Design Generator to automatically build, expand, or upgrade regional wastewater treatment systems in each of these regions.
San Diego County, ranking #18 on the list of fastest-growing U.S. counties, has seen substantial growth in the last decade. To accommodate the burgeoning wastewater needs of this vibrant region, Transcend Design Generator (TDG) has drafted a plan to construct a new wastewater treatment plant, applying the Sequencing Batch Reactor (SBR) technology. The plant is designed to handle 55,000 m³/d, seamlessly catering to the county’s increasing demand.
But the innovation doesn’t stop at wastewater treatment design. We understand the complex world of water-related units and metrics and the headache it can cause. That’s why we’ve developed a comprehensive tool, the Water Unit Converter, to ease this burden. It simplifies the conversion of water-related units into a variety of different metrics, ensuring that calculations are effortless and accurate. Built into TDG, it allows you to select from a multitude of units and convert with just a few clicks.
The Water Unit Converter is not just a handy tool; it’s a testament to our commitment to making the complex simple. It’s available for all to use here:

As we embark on this journey of constructing the new plant for San Diego County, we look forward to easing the complexities of wastewater management with our innovative solutions. Through TDG and the Water Unit Converter, we aim to make the intricate world of wastewater management a little more approachable, one conversion at a time.
