Solutions Consultant (pre-sales)

reporting to the VP of Revenue

Summary of Responsibilities:

Pre-Sales Engagement & Discovery

  • Partner closely with Enterprise Account Executives to qualify opportunities, understand customer challenges, and articulate technical fit and value.
  • Lead customer discovery sessions, workshops, and early-stage solution scoping engagements.
  • Map customer business objectives to Transcend platform capabilities using value-based consultative selling methods.

Solution Design & Demonstration:

  • Design and deliver tailored product demonstrations and solution scopes aligned to customer-specific infrastructure projects (e.g., water/wastewater, substations).
  • Create and present compelling solution narratives and ROI-driven business cases that align with executive priorities.
  • Translate complex engineering concepts and software workflows into accessible, outcome-focused presentations.

Technical Sales Enablement:

  • Act as the key technical advisor throughout the sales cycle, building credibility with engineering, IT, and business stakeholders.
  • Support POCs and custom solution evaluations to reduce technical friction and accelerate buying decisions.

Cross Functional Collaboration:

  • Serve as a liaison between sales, product, and CS teams to ensure solution feasibility and roadmap alignment.
  • Bring voice-of-customer insights into product planning and solution development cycles.
  • Support customer success and onboarding teams with knowledge transfer and solution handoffs post-sale.

Industry Thought Leadership:

  • Stay informed about trends, challenges, and emerging needs in critical infrastructure industries to align upsell strategies with client objectives.
  • Advocate for customers internally to ensure solutions meet their evolving needs.
  • Occasionally participate in conferences for both executive stakeholder engagement and to promote and build awareness of Transcend solutions.

Key Performance Indicators (KPIs):

  • Contribution to new ARR and expansion revenue tied to supported opportunities.
  • Win rate of technical deals and influence on enterprise deal velocity.
  • Accuracy and effectiveness of demo, proof of concept, and proposal content.
  • Stakeholder satisfaction (sales, customer, product) with presales engagement.

We would love to hear from YOU, if you have:

  • 5+ years of experience in a pre-sales, solution engineering, or customer-facing technical consulting role with complex enterprise SaaS environment.
  • Domain experience in infrastructure planning, utilities, AEC, or public sector engineering preferred.
  • A deep understanding of SaaS architectures and value-based sales processes.
  • The ability to translate customer engineering and business needs into effective technical solutions.
  • Outstanding communication and storytelling abilities, especially with technical and executive stakeholders.
  • Experience working in a startup or high-growth SaaS company, preferably within multi-stakeholder enterprise accounts.
  • Engineering degree preferred
  • Fluent English language skills. Additional languages spoken is a plus.
