Inbound Marketing Specialist
reporting to the Senior Marketing Manager
About the Role
The Inbound Marketing Specialist is a vital bridge between the marketing and sales teams. Your primary focus will be reviewing, qualifying, and managing inbound leads—ensuring they’re engaged quickly, enriched with the right data, and routed effectively to sales. You’ll act as the connective tissue across go-to-market teams by maintaining visibility into lead quality, campaign performance, and handoff success.
This role is ideal for someone with a strong curiosity about how top-of-funnel marketing translates into revenue—and who’s excited to support outreach strategy, campaign execution, and feedback loops that improve outcomes over time.
Summary of Responsibilities:
Lead Engagement & Nurture Strategy
- Monitor inbound leads from web forms, gated content, webinars, and events
- Assess leads using key indicators (demographics, behavior, content engagement) to determine ICP fit and journey stage
- Build and maintain automated and manual nurture paths that deliver the right content, messaging, or CTAs to drive lead progression
- Collaborate with sales to understand how nurtured leads are converting and adjust workflows or messaging as needed
Marketing-Qualified Lead (MQL) Readiness & Handoff
- Assign and segment inbound contacts based on behavior and qualification criteria
- Flag high-intent leads for fast-tracking to sales and ensure they are routed with proper context (touchpoints, content consumed, interest area)
- Identify leads that need further nurturing and assign to the appropriate content tracks or email workflows
Campaign & Event Support
- Support campaign and event execution with pre- and post-engagement workflows, contact list segmentation, tagging, and HubSpot tracking
- Ensure all campaign-generated leads are entered into the correct nurture or routing stream based on source and content interaction
Data & System Hygiene
- Maintain clean and up-to-date records in HubSpot, with accurate tagging, lifecycle stages, and ownership fields
- Track performance metrics related to nurture performance, MQL conversion, and handoff efficiency
- Partner with RevOps and marketing to improve scoring models, nurture architecture, and reporting views
Process Improvement & Collaboration
- Regularly participate in cross-functional meetings to review campaign performance and lead quality
- Use insights from lead behavior and sales feedback to optimize nurture touchpoints, frequency, and segmentation logic
- Support outbound efforts during slower inbound periods, including target list building and email sequence refinement
Success Metrics
- Engagement-based metrics: meetings scheduled, deal progression, etc.
- Conversion rate from inbound to sales-qualified
- Lead-to-opportunity velocity and accuracy of quality
- Event and campaign follow-up completion
- Improvements or efficiencies proposed and implemented
We would love to hear from YOU, if you have:
- Minimum of 1 year of experience in sales development, marketing ops, customer service, or lead generation
- Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Business, Communications or equivalent experience
- Strong verbal and written communication skills; comfortable interacting with prospects and internal teams
- Familiarity with HubSpot or other CRM/marketing automation tools (or ability to learn fast)
- Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills and CRM hygiene
- Analytical mindset: excited about reporting, dashboards, and optimizing workflows
- High sense of urgency and ability to triage, prioritize, and act independently
- Respectful and confident in qualification conversations (e.g., around budget, authority, and timeline)
Preferred Skills
- B2B or enterprise SaaS experience
- Experience using HubSpot for Sales & Marketing activities
- Exposure to inbound funnel strategy, lead scoring, or behavioral intent data
- Interest in engineering, infrastructure, or sustainability sectors
